Victoria Ibarra
Horn
Victoria Ibarra is currently attending Azusa Pacific University where she is finishing her Bachelor’s degree in Music Education. Her passion for music began in high school, where she took part in wind and jazz bands on both french horn and trumpet. Soon after she began college, Victoria marched her first summer of DCI on mellophone with Gold Drum and Bugle Corps. Being able to participate in such a group allowed for her to progress her own leadership skills and admiration for the arts. Within her last four years pursuing a higher education at APU, Victoria also studied at the KASC Music Education Institute during their summer institution program where she completed her first level in the Kodaly Pre-Certification process. As she approaches the end of her final year towards her Bachelor’s degree, she hopes to continue on with her career as an active freelance hornist and music educator. She has worked with the Azusa Conservatory of Music, an organization that strives to teach music to students of all ages within the San Gabriel Valley. She has taken part in many of their programs, from their World Music Symphony to teaching private brass lessons. While working with that organization, she developed her love for teaching and desire to inspire students to begin their own musical journey. She has since then continued to grow her own private instruction, as well as serve at local high schools and middle schools in their own music programs during her free time.
