Bill Fritz is Associate Director of Bands at Eleanor Roosevelt High School in Eastvale, CA. There, he conducts the Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Winds, team-teaches the Cadet Band, and organizes rehearsals and show design for the Marching Band. Prior to his appointment at ERHS, BIll was Assistant Director of Bands at Vista Murrieta High School in Murrieta, CA (2018 – 2022) and Director of Bands at Azusa High School in Azusa, CA (2016 – 2018). He holds degrees in Instrumental Conducting (M.M. 2014), Saxophone Performance (B.M. 2010), and Music Education (B.A. 2010) from California State University, Fullerton where he studied under Mitchell J. Fennell (Professor Emeritus, CSUF) and James Rotter. As a saxophonist, Bill has performed in China and in multiple states across the USA. As an undergraduate, he made his orchestral debut with the Debut Orchestra of Los Angeles, winning a position to perform the “Old Castle” solo from Mussorgsky’s “Pictures at an Exhibition”. As a conductor, Bill has spent his entire career in education, taking multiple groups to festivals and receiving consistent “Unanimous Superior” ratings. To prove to his students that learning never stops, he continues to push himself and attends conducting symposiums across the country, having most recently studied with Dr. Mallory Thompson (Northwestern University) and Michael Haithcock (Professor Emeritus, University of Michigan).
